Drug Disorder
Thrombin time (TT) measures the final step of coagulation - the conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin to form the clot.
What is this test?
Most common cause of prolonged TT is the presence of heparin in the sample. Other causes of prolonged TT are abnormalities of fibrinogen and circulating heparin-like anticoagulants.
Thrombin Time is offered as a lab test. Follow preparation instructions if any, and consult your doctor to interpret results.
